How to Make Professional-looking Tribal Belts
November 12th from 2 -4 p.m.
Any level of sewing skill is welcome!
We will be making a belt base that is custom-fit to the contours of your body. You can also use this base to make a cabaret belt. I will give you lots of design ideas for tribal belts and show you examples of embellishment and closure options. You will receive detailed instructional handouts so you will have all the information you need to complete your belt.

$35 at the door if there is space.
Please bring the following supplies, which are available at any fabric
store:
1. A piece of pre-shrunk heavy fabric (denim or cotton duck work well). It should be cut to the following size: 24″ x the amount needed to go around your hips plus six inches. Ideally, the fabric will be black. If this is too confusing for you, don’t worry - just bring your fabric. ![]()
2. Straight pins
3. Fabric scissors
4. Tool for marking on your fabric (tailor’s chalk)
5. Any tribal jewelry or textiles that you want to incorporate into
your belt.
6. Hand sewing needle
7. Thread to match your fabric
