Shoes for Bellydancers

Monday, November 27th, 2006

Hi all!

I hope you don’t mind me contacting you about a non-dance event announcement.  This is not something I plan to do on a regular basis.  I am just trying to do some research.  As someone who deals with dance shoes day in and day out, and as a bellydancer, I know that the issue of what to wear on a bellydancer’s feet is not something that is addressed by most dance shoe manufacturers.  I would love to hear feedback from you all about what you would like in your perfect bellydance shoe?  Or if you have already found it, what do you like to wear, and where do you get it?

Thank you,
Tina

Dance news - Olympia - November 2006

Monday, November 6th, 2006

News from Kashani and Mas Uda Dancers of Olympia, WA –

I hope to develop a once a month notice rather than send out multiple
notices as events come up, SO - I think  it’ll work MUCH better that
way - easier on me and less mail in the ‘in’ boxes for the rest of you.

If you are an Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater dancer and want your events
included in this monthly notice, please send me info about them and I’ll include them in my monthly notice. Please put “Dance News Olympia - listing” in the subject line and try to get it to me by the middle of the month before it happens.  The notice goes out to about 200 addresses and two additional distribution lists (NW Dance and KANDO).

Our website (mas-uda.com) is undergoing an overhaul and once it’s updated ‘Dance News Olympia” should be there month by month as well..

She has a wealth of experience, traveling in North Africa, the Middle East, India, and Eastern Europe, to further explore belly dance and related dance forms.  Winning the double crowns “Ms. America ” and “Miss World” of the Belly Dance, in 1995 at the San Francisco Festival of Oriental Dance, Tamalyn went on to receive the Giza award for the video of “Infinito”, and “Best troupe” award from the International Academy of Middle Eastern Dance (IAMED), and was recently nominated in the category of “Best Cabaret Dancer” for the IAMED awards.  Currently, Ms. Dallal is working on a book, film, and music project entitled “40 Days and 1001 Nights”, in which she travels to five Islamic countries to live for 40 days in each.
