Pride Parade: call for dancers and musicians

I’m wondering if there are enough interested belly dancers and
musicians to put a group together for the June 24 Pride Parade in
downtown Seattle.

The route is 1.2 miles on Fourth avenue from Union St to the Seattle
Center. If you’ve ever been to the Pride parade, you probably noticed
that it needs more dancers and musicians (and fewer trucks with bad
sound-systems). This is the first year that cash prizes will be
awarded (up to $2,000!) for the best marching groups and floats.

Dancers: You’d need to commit to three weekend rehearsals in June (on Capitol Hill)  and be able to buy a $35 silk veil. The marching formations and veil combos would be simple and appropriate for any dancer with some experience and in good physical health.

Musicians: You’d need to commit to two weekend rehearsals in June (on Capitol Hill). We defiantly need a few drummers who can walk and play at the same time, plus anyone else who wants to join (ney? rain stick?).

Any prize money, less the entrance fee, would be split evenly among
participants.
