Goddess Squad is a gathering of women in a sacred space. Each
month we will feature a different instructor. Unlike a formal
dance class, a circle is formed for our dance lesson. We are
not focused on technique as much as bonding and the celebration
of feminine spirit! There will be a spread of food and beverage
for all to partake in on the last gathering; with the option of
students performing for each other with the lessons learned.
Together we will connect with divine feminine spirit through
Belly Dance.
The instructor of the month will also be the featured dancer at
Spice Box.
Elizabeth Dennis has been belly dancing for 14 years. Her
fascination with dancing creatively started as a child.
Disheartened with western dance forms, she stumbled upon belly
dance in 1991 at the age of 29, when she saw her first snake
draped belly dancer, glittering onstage, dancing with fire!
She never looked back. She began fusing Flamenco, Ballet and
East Indian dance with standard belly dance soon after creating
her own uniquely precise and flowing fusion she calls
“Flambellico.” She holds the championship title for her
Flambellico performance in the “Tribal Fusion Solo” category at
the Belly Dancer of the Universe Competition 2006, in Long Beach
California , as well as 2ND runner up for “Fusion Solo” that same
year.
She has taught many a Goddess Squad class during it’s hey day!

watch), even though she did not realize at first, how far she
would be traveling.

Announcing the latest dance sensation in the Seattle area,
Nalini and the Blue Lotus Bollywood Dance Company!
Bollywood dance, an Indian dance craze that is sweeping the
globe, is derived from classical Indian Kathak dance and fuses
jazz, bellydance, hip-hop, salsa, and many other types of dance.
Nalini has studied Bollywood and Kathak dance since she was a
wide-eyed little girl in Ukraine watching her first Indian film
on the silver screen. She brought her own particular style to
the United States and has been captivating audiences in Seattle
for several years as a soloist. The Blue Lotus dancers began
studying with Nalini 3 years ago and 1 year ago, they formed the
Blue Lotus Dance Company with Nalini as director, choreographer,
and lead dancer.
Come be thrilled by Blue Lotus at the Vedic Cultural Center in
Redmond, the temporary headquarters of the ISKON temple of the
Seattle area, on December 23rd. They will be performing a
sublime classical piece about Krishna, one of the most well-
known Hindu gods. The program starts at 6:00 and Blue Lotus
will be performing with several other Indian performers in the
Seattle area.

exciting combos to add to your toolkit and a syllabus to help
you keep track.

ABOUT THE CLASS
Dance from your core with mystical power and grace, and
skillfully engage your natural body mechanics in creating the
magic of this captivating art form. Build strength, stamina,
coordination, and confidence as you gain a new sense of control
over your body and physical expression, and open the door to a
conditioning activity that can be practiced for a lifetime!
Suzanna’s individual attention, coaching, and layers of
challenge means that beginning through intermediate level
students have the opportunity to advance their skill. Short
combinations learned in each class build into a one-song
choreography by the end of the session. Wear workout pants and
top with bare feet, and get ready to move to some of today’s
hottest Middle Eastern music!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Dance has been at the core of Suzanna’s existence for a
lifetime. With a focus on Egyptian Orientale and training in
numerous folkloric influences, she has studied Middle Eastern
dance locally and internationally for over a decade, building
on an extensive background in jazz, West African, modern, and
ballet, and 12 years of experience in the theatre.
SUZANNA discovered her passion for belly dance while preparing
for a lead role in a play, “Shivaree,” in which the character
was a belly dancer. Today, she is a high caliber performer,
producer, and teacher.
She performs weekly at Seattle’s premiere venues as well as
with arranged tours and private functions, and collaborates with
musicians and dancers to present at events such as World Rhythm
Festival, Arab Festival, Arts Gumbo, and Bollywood stage
productions. In addition, she is founder and producer of the
World Dance Showcase, which features different global dance
artists every month. Since 2004, SUZANNA has offered classes
in Seattle, and is regularly contacted for private coaching by
people of all backgrounds, needs, and goals.
