NWBD: AFRO-ARABIC Night at HABESHA! — Saturday, Sept. 6th
All who experienced July’s AFRO-ARABIC show are still talking
about it! A feast for the body & spirit — from the beguile of
the talking drum to the pulse of the jembe to the dynamism of
the tabla. Now here’s your second chance!
Saturday, Sept. 6th — 10:00pm
Habesha Ethiopian Restaurant & Lounge, 1809 Minor Avenue,
Seattle - 98101
AFRICAN PERCUSSIONIST extraordinaire Thione Diop from Senegal
and his group, Yeke Yeke mesmerize all who witness and leave
no one sitting.
The muse of Anton’s ARABIC TABLA ignites a belly dance
cavalcade, featuring dazzling shows by SUZANNA, KATIA, &
BELLA JOVAN, plus a special appearance by Katia’s student
troupe.
Then our world class percussionists fuse together, creating a
breathtaking trans-continental sound. Experience the euphoria!
My daughter recorded a bit of it from my cell phone, so here’s
a taste:

Open seating — get there before the kitchen closes at 10:00 if
you want to eat! Savory, nutritious, and delicious Ethiopian
cuisine (and the cocktails won’t disappoint either), combined
with world class entertainment. An exquisite, classy venue that
celebrates cultural art and artists. The Manhattan style decor
flaunts a cascading full bar (and they know how to use it) with
exposed brick walls tastefully decorated with vibrant traditional
Ethiopian artwork surrounding the open dining area, infused with
the amber glow of artistic ceiling lamps. Graceful service with

DIRECTIONS TIP:
This east downtown Seattle location is tricky for most, but only
the first time. Minor is a limited street that runs parallel to
Boren Ave. The cross street is Howell, about a block before that
sneaky (hardly any signs) entrance to the I5 North Expressway.
If you find yourself on Denny & Boren, you’re about 3 blocks
north of the establishment.
